What a semen analysis actually says

Volume
How much fluid — the lab reports it in mL.
Concentration
Sperm per mL (in millions). The headline number most people mean by “count”.
Total count
Concentration × volume — the whole picture, not just density.
Progressive motility
The % actually swimming forward. Often matters more than count.
Morphology
% with typical shape. Even in normal reports this number looks small — that's expected.
Pus cells
A marker of possible infection. Infections can lower motility — and are treatable.
